Independence Day Celebration 2022
Empower People celebrated 76th Independence Day in 3 districts of Haryana namely Yamuna Nagar, Panipat and Karnal.
Yamuna Nagar
Empower People Yamuna Nagar hoisted flags at two places.
Considering the engagement of local religious clerics, the Empower People Yamuna
Nagar team chose Ahmadiyya
Madrasa for the event. Shagufta a Survivor leader unfurled the national flag in the presence of madrasa teachers and
students, some locals were present at the event. An Ex-service man and a
survivor leader were also invited. Then our national anthem was sung by all the
participants present there. After this, speech was delivered by Ex-service man
and project coordinator Dildar Hussain, they both highlighted the importance of
this day and struggle and sacrifice made by our freedom fighter during fight
for independence. A group of girls sung a patriotic song. After all the
activities sweets were distributed among students and guests.
In Van Gujjar village it was celebrated among villagers. A survivor leader Salukha with her husband and 2 children participated in the event. She unfurled the tricolour and national anthem was sung by all. After this coordinator Dildar Hussain delivered a speech highlighting some historical events and how we got our independence.
The event in Panipat village Chichrana was celebrated with a survivors’ group. The program begins as survivor leader Suman unfurls our national flag followed by the national anthem by all participants. After this, a survivor leader’s husband delivered a speech and imparted information about Independence Day. After that our coordinator Rajender Parsad came and provided information about Empower People organisation and its work. At the end, all women sang a patriotic song and then sweets were distributed.
In both events, survivor leaders who got the
opportunity to unfurl our national flag became so happy and emotional. They
shared their feelings with everyone and thanked Empower People for the
empowerment they got through the organisation.
Karnal
In district Karnal village Jamba the event was celebrated in
a government school. Teachers, students, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers and
some villagers were the participants in the event. The Sarpanch of the village was
invited as chief guest. The event started with Sarpanch unfurling the national
flag and the national anthem sung by everyone present. After this, a group of
students performed dance and another group sang a poem. A reward distribution
ceremony took place. Students who got top 3 positions in their final Board exams
were rewarded. After this, an informative speech was delivered by a schoolteacher
and our coordinator Ms Rajbala also gave information about the work that our
organisation Empower People is doing. At the end sweets were distributed among
students and other participants of the event.
